Frequently Asked Questions

How soon should I book a hunt reservation?
Hunting reservations are taken on a first come first served basis, so we suggest you book your dates as soon as possible.

Will I shoot all the birds released?
Normally our dogs find 90 to 100% of all birds released. Of course, the number of birds shot will depend on your shooting skills. Clients who bring their own dogs must accept the responsibility for the number of birds found. Our guides will make every effort possible to get you shooting at every bird.

Can I shoot additional birds?
Yes! You can shoot as many birds as you like, there are no limits. Each additional bird will be an added cost to your original booked hunt. Bird counts are based on released birds.

What equipment will I need?
When it comes to clothing, it is a good idea to wear two pair of socks; an inner polypropylene sock to wick away moisture, and a wool outer sock for support. We recommend the Filson Merino wool sock, the lightweight for early season and the heavy for late season. With this quality sock, you don't need the liner. Skip the cotton socks unless you like blisters.

It is important to layer lightweight clothing on your upper body that can be easily removed as temperatures climb. The following is a checklist of suggested items that may make your hunt more comfortable.

  • Wool socks
  • Long sleeve shirt
  • Hunting boots
  • Shotgun
  • Shooting gloves
  • Shooting / sunglasses
  • Hat
  • Shotgun shells No. 7-1/2
  • Double faced pants
  • Hunting vest / coat
  • Rain gear
  • Chaps
Please note that Washington State Law requires HUNTER ORANGE

Can I use my own dog on the hunt?
Yes! With the non-guided hunt only
